Although I was active, I never worked out in any sort of formal manner before I retired.  At age 76 I began and my daughter said, "Dad, just so you don't injure yourself, it would be best to engage a personal trainer."  So I did and still am with Brenda while approaching 85.  Actually Brenda is my second trainer (the first developed terminal cancer unfortunately) with whom I've been for over 6 years.  I've always had a curiosity bone and Brenda is so full of information about everything concerning physical fitness that she keeps me totally fascinated.  More to the point, she is very much aware her client's physical state and tailors her assigned exercises accordingly.  Hence, over the time I have spent with her (one hour a week and two hours of "homework") I have become more fit than I was decades ago.  For an old guy who suffers from stiffness (I call it incipient rigor mortis) it is important to note that she includes a variety of stretching exercises in my program which have helped keep me flexible and avoid injury.  Balance also deteriorates with age so this, too, is given emphasis.  Also, there are exercises with weights to counteract the natural loss of muscle with age.  I think it is important to note that her upbeat personality makes sessions actually fun rather than work!  And she laughs at bad jokes!  All in all, choosing to work with Brenda is definitely one of the best decisions I've made.  I highly recommend her no matter what your age.  Tom Fehlner

Hi Brenda, since we are approaching my one year anniversary of training with BLT,,,, I wanted to share a few of the accomplishments I feel we have made over the year for this 71 year old out of shape gentleman...

1. Full recovery from my broken foot after physical therapy from a local medical facility ended and I was still having issues..
2. I have lost 12 pounds..
3. I can walk two miles without a break instead of a quarter of a mile with one break..
4. My balance, mobility and stability are better than ever...
5. I am physically much stronger throughout my body with less flab in my chest, shoulders and upper arms..
6. I never knew what a core was but have found it helps my body in so many different ways...
Brenda, I just want to say “thank you for helping this old guy do things he thought had passed him by and would never ever be possible.”” Looking forward to several more years,,,, John Miner

Virtual Training has enhanced my mental and physical health.  My motivation has skyrocketed and the results are showing.  Covid is causing chaos, virtual training is helping me remain centered.  The final gift...IT CAN BE DONE FROM ANYWHERE.
Thank you Brenda Lewis.

Being able to continue training in quarantine and another very difficult time in my life has helped me feel normal.  I am grateful to have a friend and trainer like Brenda who has been there to continue to motivate and encourage me.  Also, being able to keep in contact with my group of friends has been invaluable during this time.

Having the option of doing virtual personal training has basically saved me this summer. It has allowed live interaction with my trainer and given me my normal atmosphere during abnormal conditions. It also has given me additional respect for Brenda's knowledge and creativity - we accomplish all the goals we would if I were doing it in person at her studio, despite the fact I don't have all the same equipment in my home.  It has provided balance and consistency during these chaotic months.

The option of virtual training and classes has allowed me to not only continue working towards my fitness goals but also stay connected with and motivated by other gym members.

I have been active all my life, sports to hiking rarely did I work out with a focus on maintaining my body. I had remained pretty much injury free for almost 50 years. Yes, I had aches and pains but I was older and assumed this was just a normal part of aging.

My outlook changed in an instant one morning while playing racquetball. I turned hard and went down immediately. After a visit to the Doctor I learned I had a torn meniscus in my right knee.

This is an injury that is not easily repaired and does not really heal. The best solution is to avoid those activities that are likely to aggravate it.
I was lucky enough to have already attended some of Brenda’s classes with my wife and knew what a focus she had on the whole body.

After three months of focused training she was able to strengthen my legs, increase my flexibility and retrain my body to not put unnecessary pressure on the knees. Two years later I am healthier then I have been in years. The aches and pains are gone, I am more flexible and more active then I have been in over ten years. I continue to play racquetball several times a week with no discomfort.

My experience with Brenda has been life changing looking at my whole body: including exercise, diet and my mental approach. This is something that I could not have done without her coaching and expertise.

If you are committed to a healthier, longer and more enjoyable life, I urge you let her guide you.
